You can find this scripture here.
That last part really got me. "For the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable." I cannot deny that which has been given to me by God, and I cannot ignore my calling. And now that God has give me these gifts with which to serve Him and a calling to draw others to Him, He's not going to take them away.
God has called me to do things that are greater than me, things that I cannot do on my own. When I realize my need for Him, I can go to Him so He can give me what I need for that moment. And then, when I'm able to accomplish all that He had planned for me, there's no way I can brag or think that it was something I did on my own. It was all Him.
So, we need to realize how weak we are, and how desperately we need Him, as well as how eager and willing He is to give us EVERYTHING we need, if we just ask. If you are weak and know you need Him, you've never been in a better place. Now, just ask Him, and you'll get what you need, and probably even more than you expected, because our God is so good and gracious.

Romans 9 - 12:2 The Great Commission
If you haven't already read this passage on your own, you can read it here.
God didn't just come to save the Jewish people, because He knew many of them would reject Him. The ones that were saved, however, became jealous of the gentile believers, and the gentile believers felt unsure in their faith because they weren't Jewish.
But God has truly come to call ALL men to Him, and to join them to the True Vine. That makes it our responsibility to go out and tell everyone about the gospel, so that everyone has the chance to accept the love that the Father has for them.
This is the great commission.
So, we need to be going out there and telling people about His love. We need to be demonstrating His love for others in tangible ways to everyone we meet. We are the examples that people look to when they want to know what Jesus is all about. And Jesus was all about reaching out to people, so we should be, too.

The Map
Here is the "Treasure Map" that my good friend posted on Facebook. I have begun to work my way slowly through the passages, and will soon begin posting my thoughts and notes on each one. It's usually one per chapter, but sometimes more than one shows up. Please read it on your own, and don't just take my word for it. God has so many things hidden in there for your heart, too!

Genesis
Yes, same title as the first post in my other blog. But this seems even more fitting. When I read my Bible, I don't get anything out of it unless I write stuff out. Even if I'm able to apply everything I learn to my life, I'm only making a difference in my own life, and the people I minister. But if I share what I'm learning, I can hopefully make a difference in many more lives, and encourage other people to get in and read on their own.
A friend of mine posted a "Scriptural Treasure Hunt" on her facebook, of around 20 passages to read through. I'm working my way through them slowly, taking time to write down what I'm getting out of each part of each passage. So, I'm going to begin to post each part in blog form. I may post more than one a day, since I already have several days written down, but the posts will be short, so it's fine.
I'll probably post the list on here first, so people can hopefully be reading it on their own before they read my thoughts. I'm not a trained minister or anything of the sort. I just write down my thoughts on what I read, and want to share them. Please read the scriptures on your own, and you'll get things out of it that I never would, as I get things out of it that you never would.
